Title:  Entropy

Abstract:  We introduce the notion of entropy of a random variable, which quantifies the about to information it will have, and talk about a few of its properties and also why it is useful, including the connection to communication over a noisy channel.  Then we will see an application of entropy to combinatorics; we will prove the Loomis-Whitney inequality.
