    Fast entropically regularized semidefinite programming

Abstract: I will present fast practical algorithms for approximate semidefinite programming (SDP) based on regularization by the von Neumann entropy.

    Counting roots of polynomial systems

Given n generically chosen polynomials of n variables, one expects that there are only finitely many common roots. Then a natural question is to count the exact number of these common roots without having to solve the system of equations.

Do higher-order interactions promote coexistence in diverse ecological communities?

A central assumption in most ecological models is that the interactions in a community operate only between pairs of species. However, two species may interactively affect the growth of a third species.

Validity of Prandtl boundary layer from the kinetic theory

In this talk, we discuss an asymptotic expansion of the Boltzmann equation in the high Reynolds number regime. This expansion incorporates the diffuse reflection boundary condition which corresponds to the no-slip boundary in the fluid.
