Find the Fake!

The six paintings for which Nova provided the scans to the Image Analysis teams were the following:

Five of these scans were made from authentic Van Gogh paintings; the sixth was made of a copy painted by art restorer Charlotte Caspers, after an original by Van Gogh.

These low resolution scan renderings do not suffice for an in-depth image analysis. Instead, the Image Analysis teams were given much higher resolution scans of the whole painting, albeit only in Black-and-White. By clicking on the images below, you can compare small patches of those high-resolution B&W scans for each picture.
