Tung Nguyen awarded Porter Ogden Jacobus Fellowship

Established in 1905 by Clara Cooley Jacobus, this fellowship is an honorific award reserved for students who, in the judgement of the University faculty, demonstrate the highest scholarly excellence. It is the highest honor that the Graduate School bestows on an enrolled Ph.D. student. Honorific Fellowships recognize outstanding performance and professional promise, and represent high commendation from the Princeton University Graduate School. Congratulations Tung! 

Alex Damian awarded Jane Street 2024 Graduate Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Alex Damian,  a recipient of Jane Street 2024 Graduate Research Fellowship. Alex is advised by Jason D. Lee and his work focuses on deep learning theory. Specifically, his research focuses on understanding how optimization algorithms, like stochastic gradient descent (SGD) or Adam, navigate the complex loss landscapes encountered when training deep learning models.

PACM Hosts Welcome Back Lunch

On Wednesday, September 27, PACM graduate students, researchers, faculty and staff met for lunch to celebrate the start of a new academic year and to welcome new students to the PhD program. The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange research ideas and learn more about future programs and events.
